2017 & 2018 Norway Trips
2017 Discernment Trip
Our trip to Norway in 2017 was a step of faith into the great unknown. The discernment trip was twofold. First, do we feel called/united as a married couple to do missions in Norway? If not, then we would not pursue missions in Norway. Second, if we do feel called to do missions in Norway, then who would we want to partner with on the ground in doing ministry?
We can say that before we left to return back to Indiana during this trip, we both knew with a resounding yes in our hearts that we wanted to be missionaries in Norway! It was in the city of Stavanger that we felt God drawing us to where we had met a Free Independant Church called IMI Kirken. Upon entering IMI we felt the Holy Spirit active and an inside spiritual peace as we talked with the staff about the calling we felt God had placed in our lives and seeking discernment if this is truly what God wanted us to do.

2018 Relationship Building Trip
Our trip to Norway for the summer of 2018 was a trip focused on building our relationship with IMI Church and explore more of the culture in and around Stavanger. We were blessed in meeting with so many wonderful staff, volunteers, youth, and members of the church during the almost two weeks we were there. If you were to ask us to use one word to describe the staff of IMI Church, that word would be “intentional.” As they minister to those inside and outside the church community, they do so with intention that reflects Christ in their actions. A church community that seeks to build one another up in the love of Christ and a love of Christ towards those they meet and come across.
